
Any daredevil or adventure seeker looking for their next vacation destination need look no further than a new one Airbnb in Chile, perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, offering spectacular views and an adrenaline rush.
That unique propertywhich was built in 2018, is located in the stunning Lagunillas area of Valparaíso in the coastal village of Matanzas and offers incredible sea views as well as complete privacy and tranquility.
Designed by the architecture firm Croxatto and Opazo Architectsthe house sits on a steep cliff overlooking the local beaches – and boasts huge windows designed to give residents the feeling of “floating on the sea”.
The cabin has no Wi-Fi or TVs, meaning it offers occupants the perfect seascape from reality — plus, what’s more, it can be rented for just $103 a night, a steal compared to most oceanfront hotels.

The cabin was built in 2018 by architectural firm Croxatto and Opazo Arquitectos, who built the retreat with large windows to create the “illusion of floating on the sea”.

The building sits about 80 meters above sea level and includes carefully framed large expanses of glass to enjoy the best views of the sea – and if lucky, guests might even get a chance to see sea lions from the cabin, which are lurking are frequent on the Chilean Pacific coast.
“We were looking for a way to both dominate the steep slope and blend in with the surrounding nature,” said the architects, who won the Wallpaper Design Award 2021 for their creation of the serene cabin.
Constructed from reclaimed oak that has been treated and cured for durability, the retreat features interior reclaimed pine planks and solar powered exterior lighting to reduce energy consumption.

In the listing, Airbnb notes that the peaceful retreat is only accessible via three flights of stairs leading down the beach dunes

The cabin also includes a deck where guests can enjoy the best views of the sea and even have a chance to see sea lions that often visit the shore
Architects Felipe Croxatto Viviani and Nicolás Opazo Marchetti strategically positioned the hut to the north to provide shelter from strong winds.
Access to the stilt house is via a three-story stairway that descends the beach dunes.
The interior of the cabin contains touches of light wood to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Internally, the retreat consists of two floors connected by a ladder that leads to the second floor.

On the first floor there is a kitchen where guests can enjoy their meal with a view, a lounge area and a luxurious bathroom
On the ground floor, guests will find a spacious, open kitchen where they can enjoy their meal while gazing at the waves.
There is also a separate small chill out area as well as a luxurious bathroom fitted with all standard amenities including a shower with a sea view.
Upstairs you will find the bedroom with a large bed for two people, accessed via a wooden ladder and a fairly large balcony.
There is also a large decking area and the beach is just a stone’s throw away.
The owner also advises guests to drive a 4×4 vehicle as the road is not in great condition and such a vehicle is required when it rains.
The retreat has received rave reviews on Airbnb, with one guest saying, “One of the best views I’ve ever had in my life.”
While another added that the cabin was “an absolute dream”.
The luxury Airbnb can be booked for $103 per night, depending on the dates.
