England manager Sarina Wiegman tested positive for Covid ahead of the team’s final group match against Northern Ireland on Friday.
The Football Association says Wiegman will now “take a rest period at the squad’s base camp”.
Assistant manager Arjan Veurink will lead the team against Northern Ireland.
England go into the quarter-finals as group winners with victories against Austria and Norway.
On Wednesday, July 20, they will play their round of 16.
“Wiegman will remain in remote contact with the players and technical staff and will be monitored regularly to return to all elements of their role as soon as possible,” the FA said.
The quarter-finals will be played against the second-placed team from Group B, which currently has Germany on top, Spain second, Denmark third and Finland last.
