Barcelona have announced Ousmane Dembele has agreed a new contract until the summer of 2024, ending months of transfer speculation.

Barcelona have announced that winger Ousmane Dembele has agreed a new contract until 2024
The club and the player had been in talks about a new deal for months but they struggled to find common ground. As a result, his contract expired on June 30.
Despite being a free agent, Dembele had little interest from clubs other than Chelsea and subsequently returned to the negotiating table with Barcelona.
Since taking over the club from Ronald Koeman last season, boss Xavi has always given wingers top priority.

He fought for Dembele to stay when other voices at the club wanted him to leave.
He even insisted on picking him when there were people at the club who wanted him sidelined to force his hand into signing a new contract.
It has now been agreed and confirmed by the Catalan giants on social media with an announcement video that drew heavy criticism from fans.

A third wrote: “They don’t even have money for a decently edited video.
While another simply tweeted, “They couldn’t even afford a whiteboard duster.”

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Twitter earlier today that the paperwork for a new two-year deal has been completed and that the Catalan giants would announce the news later today.
His tweet read: “Paper work completed for Ousmane Dembélé: new contract signed until June 2024, official statement and unveiling planned with Barcelona later today.
“Xavi wanted both Dembele and Raphinha… he will end up having both Dembele and Raphinha.”
Dembele originally joined the La Liga giants in a blockbuster transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
The France winger has made 150 appearances despite suffering numerous injuries during his five-year tenure at the Nou Camp.
During that time he has scored 32 times and provided another 34 assists.
