“If Conor comes back anytime soon, me and Conor would be in for fireworks, and it’s a fight that fans want to see,” Chandler said TMZ.
“I think it’s the biggest fight we can have in mixed martial arts right now and I’m trying to say that as humbly as possible, but I think it’s a huge fight.”
After the call-up at UFC 274, McGregor was receptive to the idea of fighting Chandler in a now-deleted tweet.
‘I’d beat that guy off quite nicely, no doubt about that. A fireworks display,” wrote McGregor.

“I also like the 170 shout. Knocked him over. I’m definitely ready to fight this guy at some point in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congratulations on a solid win Michael and another Barnstormer.’
Chandler is aware that the likely scenario means McGregor won’t be fighting again until early 2023 given the severity of the broken leg.
‘The guy broke his leg. It wasn’t a minor injury, it required surgery, maybe multiple surgeries, a titanium rod going in and all that stuff,” Chandler added to TMZ.
“I’m not going to throw stones at the guy. I mean, the guy crushed his leg completely, and that was literally just a year ago. Did people come back quicker than him? Yes, probably, but we also don’t know the extent of Conor’s injury.”
