Bayern Munich Manager Julian Nagelsman has set a goal Barcelona after confirmation of Robert Lewandowski‘s transfer to the financially troubled Spanish giants.
Lewandowski, 33, was confirmed as a Barcelona player on Tuesday night after weeks of speculation.
It has been thought for some time that there was no way Barcelona could manage to secure a deal for the Poland forward as the club are said to be in excess of £1bn in debt.

Barcelona confirmed the deal with a series of photos of the Polish striker on Tuesday night
However, Barcelona managed to get their man and Nagelsmann subsequently questioned how the club was still able to dive into the market given their current financial plight.
“It’s the only club in the world that has no money but then buys all the players they want. I don’t know how they do it. It’s a little bit weird, a little bit crazy,” he said when asked about the transfer.
Barcelona’s financial distress reached such a stage earlier this summer that they were unable to sign Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen, two players who arrived on free transfers from AC Milan and Chelsea respectively.

The club is currently bound by La Liga regulations which stipulate that the club can only spend £1m for every £4m they give away.
It was believed that Barcelona will have to get rid of players this summer before signing any. Such speculation has led to constant rumors about the futures of Frenkie de Jong and Ousmane Dembele, the latter of whom is yet to sign a new deal with the club.
De Jong has been the subject of Manchester United’s long-term interest as the club have submitted numerous offers for the player. Recently, a deal has stalled with De Jong, who is said to be keen on staying at Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s pain has been eased somewhat by the confirmation of Matthijs de Ligt’s £68m move from Italian giants Juventus.

The Dutch defender joins the German giants on a five-year deal until 2027, with the club finally landing a player they have been hoping to sign since 2019.
After confirming the signing, de Ligt told Bayern Munich’s website: “I’m really excited to become a player for this great club. FC Bayern is the most successful club in Germany, one of the most successful clubs in Europe and the world.
“Right from the start I felt the real appreciation of the sporting management, the coach and the board, which convinced me.”
