Reece James was mocked by fans online after a hilarious own goal Chelsea in a prep game.
Goals by Timo Werner and mason mountain Book the defender’s error as Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Club America 2-1 at Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
But football fans didn’t forget James’ slip – and quickly gained weight Twitter mocking the right-back.

The right-back missed a back pass to keeper Marcus Bettinelli and watched the ball go in
A Twitter user posted the clip of the bizarre and hilarious own goal with the caption: “Reece James Own Goal vs Club America wtf is this.”
The video shows Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta and Mount working together to clear an attacker from the Mexican side before Mount pushes him towards his England team-mate who is standing roughly on the corner of the box.
Realizing an opponent was poised to press third goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, the 22-year-old hit a powerful back pass on goal – but past the battered Bettinelli and into the empty goal.
One fan said, “Reece James is a scammer,” followed by two laughing emojis.
Another added: “Nobody talks about Reece James’ own goal earlier today. The guy was terrible today. I can’t wait for the new season.”
And football fans were quick to take to social media to mock the 22-year-old for the mistake
A third wrote: “God that Reece James OG is awful. What a finish for Mount tho.’
One tweeted: “Chelsea actually conceded an own goal from Reece James trying to play like Ten Hag’s United from behind. Your football is haram, stick to it.”
A fifth said: “The most overrated player I’ve ever seen Reece James Trent would have crossed the ball over to Diaz with his left.”
Another continued: “Reece James is not a good right-back,” while one sarcastically posted: “Tbh Reece James has a surreal passing ability nonetheless. Class!’.
But another blamed Bettinelli for the mistake, saying: “And that’s not even Reece James. The goalkeeper was a complete idiot.”
