Everton are in further talks with Burnley over a deal for winger Maxwel Cornet.
Director of Football Kevin Thelwell has skipped the club’s US tour to speed up transfer activity and Cornet was absent from Burnley’s squad for last night’s friendly against Shrewsbury.
The 25-year-old is a target Everton have been discussing since May to replace Richarlison, who joined Spurs for £60million earlier this month.

Cornet has a £17.5million release clause but Everton are reportedly proposing a delayed payment structure for their bid.
Should a deal be struck between the two clubs, Cornet would become the Toffees’ second signing this summer after team-mate James Tarkowski traded Turf Moor for Goodison Park on a free transfer earlier this month.
The Ivorian joined Turf Moor last August and impressed with nine goals in 26 games for the club.
