
England’s women face Northern Ireland in their home shirt – despite being the away team – to help colour-blind spectators of Friday’s Euro 2022 game at St Mary’s
The England women will switch from their crimson away kit to their regular white home kit when they meet Northern Ireland on Friday Euro 2022 clash to help color blind viewers.
England will play away at St. Mary’s Stadium on Friday night but in a similar vein to a World Championship Qualifying match between the two teams they play in a home shirt.
Northern Ireland, who are yet to win the competition, also wore white instead of green when they faced Austria and Norway earlier in the competition as they play in red.

A spokesman for Color Blind Awareness said: the athlete: “Obviously we are happy when organizers and teams make decisions about kits to avoid kit conflicts for color-blind fans and players.
“However, there is still work to be done on the lesser-known problematic color combinations and particularly in relation to ‘clashing’ kits between goalkeepers and match officials.”
England, meanwhile, advanced to the knockout rounds of the European Championship with two of two wins over Austria and Norway.

Sarina Wiegman’s side know that a win against Northern Ireland in Southampton will see them through as group winners.
Wiegman will likely rotate her roster with one eye on the quarterfinals.
