Lady’s funeral Deborah James – who inspired millions with her campaign to raise awareness of colorectal cancer – takes place today with a private ceremony attended by close friends and family.
The podcast host and mother-of-two, who became known as Bowelbabe, her social media handle, died last month at the age of 40 after being diagnosed with the disease in 2016.
Close friends and family are expected to attend the private service in her memory.

Her candid posts about her progress and diagnosis, including videos of her dancing through treatment, have been praised by the public and media alike.
Dame Deborah announced in early May that she had stopped active treatment and was spending her final days at her parents’ home in Woking.
She was cared for at the end of her life with her husband Sebastien and their two children by her side.

Her death was announced on June 28 with a message that she died peacefully surrounded by her family.
