The death of the Down Syndrome child, whose adorable social media videos had shown how she was doing well despite the war, made her the latest face of Ukraine’s agony.
Iryna’s aunt Tetiana Dmytrysyna said after speaking to her in the hospital: “[Liza’s] Mother was robbed of the most precious thing she had.’
Ms Dmytrysyna added: “She remembered reaching for her daughter and Liza was already dead.”
Two other children were killed in the strike and more than 200 others were injured.
Three of those missing after the attack were found alive in the rubble on Saturday, one person remained missing, the rescue service said.
