From technology to having access to every imaginable gadget that makes life smoother, there are so many perks to living in the modern world, but sometimes it’s easy to wonder if things have gone a little too far.
Bored panda has compiled a selection of images from around the world created by the people of capitalism Instagram account aimed at revealing the dystopian side of the world we live in.
They were photographed by people seeing something strange and it made them question the reality we live in and even their belief in humanity.
For example, one motorist spotted a group of men stopping at the scene of a car accident to take a selfie, while elsewhere a woman posed to take a picture while standing on the roof of a sinking car, proving that it for some there is nothing more important than liking social media.
Similarly, others despaired of a woman who paused to snap a seductive photograph while sprawled over a crucifix while someone else’s heart sank at the sight of a child’s bulletproof backpack.
