
A roofing contractor boss has been hailed as a “legend” after throwing all his employees a Love Island-themed pool party and BBQ, and giving them a full paid day off to enjoy the fun.
As the heatwave swept across the UK yesterday, Stuart Houston outfitted the car park of HG Roofing Supplies’ building in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with two pools, folding chairs, games, drinks, a BBQ and music.
Staff were rocking to work expecting an unbearably hot day at work as temperatures were expected to hit 33C.
Instead, as video captured by roofer Dylan Foster shows, the manager remodeled the yard himself and surprised his entire workforce, he said The sun.

Dylan, 22, quickly joins in, with the clip ending with a shot of him sitting on an inflatable ring in the pool.
He shared the video on TikTok yesterday, and the post is a success, having already garnered over 1.8 million views and more than 206,000 likes.
Thousands took to the comments, describing Dylan’s boss as a “legend” for hosting the party.

Of his decision to host the party, Stuart Houston said, “We just thought we’d treat the boys to a pool party and a BBQ and give them a paid day off because of the inclement weather.”
“When I walked in it was like something out of Love Island with the pools, the BBQ and the music with inflatable palm trees.”
Stuart Houston, managing director of HG Roofing Supplies, said: “We made the decision late last week when we knew it was going to be hot.
“We just thought we’d treat the boys to a pool party and BBQ and give them a paid day off because of the bad weather.
“We always try to treat the boys once or twice a year when we can.”
