Where was Pence on the day of the ‘out of joint’ election rally at the White House?
A central part of the most recent Jan. 6 hearing was the “insane,” “crazy” Oval Office meeting on Dec. 18, 2020, in which stunned lawyers fought conspiracy theorists for Donald Trump’s attention on the election outcome.
If you were wondering where then-Vice President Mike Pence was that day, C-Span communications director Howard Mortman has the answer: He’s giving a speech on Space Force and getting his Covid-19 vaccine along with Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Here is Richard Hall’s account of the infamous meeting:

A group of prominent conservatives has issued a 72-page report that methodically debunks Donald Trump’s “stolen election lie” that fueled the Jan. 6 Capitol riots in his final weeks in office.
The report’s authors are former Missouri Senator John Danforth, Benjamin Ginsberg, Thomas B. Griffith, David Hoppe, J. Michael Luttig, Michael W. McConnell, Ted Olson, and former Oregon Senator Gordon H. Smith.
“Our conclusion is clear: Joe Biden was the choice of a majority of voters, who in turn were the choice of the majority of voters in their states.”

Appearing on Ana Cabrera’s CNN show to explain the purpose of releasing the report, Mr Ginsberg said: “We wanted to be really careful and thorough in investigating all 64 cases. … It’s still an ongoing issue when 30 percent of the population say they don’t believe in elections.”
He linked his comments to Stephen Ayres’ testimony at the last hearing on January 6th. Mr Ayres said he would not have been at the Capitol that day had not then-President Trump perpetuated the myth of a stolen election.

Voices: Trump and Musk fell out of love — and I know why
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are both wealthy white men with narcissistic traits who like to take to Twitter to insult their enemies and brag about their awesomeness to their countless reactionary fans.
They were also an ally of sorts until recently. Trump praised Musk in January 2020, call him “One of our great geniuses.” For his part, Musk criticized Twitter for it Banning Trump after Trump used the platform to organize a coup attempt. Musk signed a deal to buy Twitter in April promised to bring Trump back onto the platform. Everything seemed to be going so well.
However, the Trump/Musk (Trusk?) love fest is over. Musk and Trump cheated on each other, just as they cheated on many people in their respective lives. And few can deny that it’s fun to watch two terrible people try to ruin each other. But it’s less fun when you find they’re trying to ruin everyone else in the same way – often with great success.

AOC: I don’t feel safe in the Capitol
After being verbally abused was besieged by a right-wing troll on the steps of the Capitol yesterday without any intervention from Capitol Police, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez described to a reporter how she did not feel safe in the building — especially after the Jan. 6 events.
“I have no idea what happened to the people inside who very clearly sympathized with what was going on and opened their doors wide to it,” she said. “And I’m supposed to sit here and pretend none of this ever happened?”
She linked the situation to a bipartisan backlash to the “defund the police” rallying cry, stating that while the situation remains unexamined, members of Congress, their staff and service workers remain uncertain. “We need to get to the bottom of this.”
