Former NSW Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian has said a touching farewell to her father Krikor, who has died aged 90.
Krikor Berejiklian died on July 10 after an illness.
His wife Arsha, 52, and their three daughters – Rita, Mary and Gladys – were by his side as he died in one Sydney Hospital.
At his funeral on Thursday, held at Chatswood’s Armenian Apostolic Church, the former boilermaker and welder – who proudly worked at the Sydney Opera House – was remembered as a man who always looked on the bright side of life.

Speaking to mourners at his traditional Armenian funeral service and funeral, the former NSW Prime Minister spoke of the family’s “overwhelming grief” following his death.
“Our father was a humble man. He was a true gentleman, a real character and a friend to everyone he came in contact with,” said the former prime minister The Daily Telegraph.
‘His smiling face always brought great joy.’
Ms. Berejiklian said her father taught his daughters a good work ethic and to always be proud of their Armenian heritage.
Describing her father to the end as “upbeat” and “young at heart,” she told mourners that three weeks before his death and with declining health, he left the family home for one last ride on a state bus North Ryde to Wynyard before heading back home.
“When he was in the hospital, the medical staff asked him how old he was and he answered without hesitation, ‘only 90,'” she added.
The former NSW Prime Minister has always had high praise for her father.

In 2018, she said her relationship with her father was “more of a friendship than anything and a respect.”
“We feel blessed to have them because not everyone has parents who live to that age,” she said.
‘No matter what happens in life my dad has always had a really positive attitude and I think that rubbed off on me a bit because he’s always very hands-on and no matter what the situation he always finds a silver lining.’
