
As Britain experienced its hottest day on record on Tuesday, with temperatures topping 40C (104F), celebrities stripped down to their swimwear to battle the scorching heatwave.
Gemma Collins, Lizzie Cundy and Jamie Redknapp sat back and relaxed in their sunglasses and swimwear as temperatures at London Heathrow Airport hit an unprecedented 40.2°C (104.4°F) at 12:50 p.m.
On the second scorching day of the week, Lizzie showed off her incredible figure in a racy bright pink and green cut-out swimsuit with a daring plunging neckline to her belly button.

Not content to top up her already impressive tan in the garden, Lizzie revealed that she went on a bike ride and posed on her bike.

The star was also keen to test the heat, cracking open an egg and trying to fry it on her patio. The trick didn’t go to plan, however, as Lizzie filmed the disappointing results.

Celebrities flocked to soak up the sun like the mercury reached an unprecedented 40.2 °C (104.4 °F) at London Heathrow Airport at 12:50 p.m. – about an hour after a reading of 39.1 °C (102.4 °F) in Charlwood, Surrey, it surpassed the previous UK all-time high of 38.7 °C (101.7 °F). at Cambridge in July 2019.
By midday on Tuesday, the mercury was up to 39.9 °C (103.8 °F) at Charlwood, 39.6 °C (103.3 °F) at Kew Gardens in west London, and up at Wisley in Surrey 39.3 °C (102.7 °F) and 39.2 °C (102.6 °F) in both Chertsey in Surrey and Northolt in west London – all of these readings also hitting the UK all-time high of surpass 2019.
Forecasters predicted an absolute maximum of 43C (109F) is possible later on Tuesday, with highs in England matching the warmest places in all of Europe. The UK is also currently hotter than Jamaica, the Maldives and Barbados.
The Met Office also confirmed that last night was the warmest night on record in the UK, with temperatures not falling below 25°C (77°F) in many areas of England and Wales. The highest overnight minimum in the UK last night was 25.9°C (78.6°F) at Emley Moor in West Yorkshire, while it was 25.8°C (78.4°F) at Kenley in Croydon, south London .
This broke the previous record of 23.9°C (75°F) in Brighton, which was set on August 3, 1990. It comes a day after Wales had its hottest day ever at 37.1°C (99°F) in Hawarden, Flintshire – beating a record set in the same village in 1990.
