England and Australia Lock horns again as the two rivals clash in a huge decider at Sydney Cricket Ground, which is hosting a Test match for the last time.
England are aiming for a repeat of the series victory secured six years ago Down Under Eddie Jones‘ team responded to their opening defeat in Perth by beating the Wallabies in Brisbane last weekend.
It sets up the decider perfectly as the legendary SCG host the recent duel between England and Australia, albeit a rarity in this particular sport. England manager Jones has spent the week urging his side to follow suit in the epic decider State of Origin as the Wallabies prepare for another tough battle.
“It’s great for rugby that we have a decider. We saw how big the decision maker was in State of Origin and how he captivated the fans,” said Jones. “We want to put on a similar show against Australia, a really good, tough game of rugby on historic ground and lighten up rugby a bit. It’s about whether we can find the right balance between aggression and control, wildness and calmness.”
Follow below the live updates from Australia v England, following New Zealand’s conclusion against Ireland in another Titanic series decider:
full time! New Zealand 22-32 Ireland
A captivating series and more history made by Ireland. For the first time in 28 years, the All Blacks suffered a taste streak defeat on their own turf, beaten again by a better Irish side who controlled proceedings and scored a final goal through Rob Herring to edge themselves out of sight, as New Zealand began to roar back inside.

Peter O’Mahony is in floods of tears, part celebration, part disbelief. The Irish team gathers on the sidelines, ready to join the merrymaking as the pack launches into the final scrum.

Knocked on by Akira Ioane! Ireland will win the series!
New Zealand tapped into their own 22 quickly, as they had to do, but bodies are tired, minds are tired. Ioane is half a stroke too slow to rumble into a floating pass and the ball tumbles forward off his left paw. Ireland scrum with less than a minute to play.

Which Ireland gathers in relative comfort. Caelan Doris and James Ryan carry strong and safe but Ireland are looking for a killer shot. Keith Earls is lifted by Joey Carbery with a nice pass and jumps between the tacklers.
Penalty for New Zealand! One last chance while Ireland remains grounded.

This is superb from Ireland and keeps the All Blacks at bay. Beauden Barrett’s chip bounces menacingly but Hugo Keenan ricochets off and James Lowe’s jab at the All Blacks goal will force the men in black to kick a goal-line dropout.

This is Beirne’s final act – he looks exhausted as Kieran Treadwell replaces him. Johnny Sexton is done with Joey Carbery in the park too.
And Carbery’s first involvement is an interception! A floating pass from New Zealand and the replacement was there in a flash.

Nevertheless, New Zealand will come. Akira Ioane makes meaty yards down the left before Ireland’s defense rushes in too quickly. Penalty for the All Blacks.
Tap and go. But Ireland has it again! Tadhg Beirne again in the center of a counterattack that powered Dane Coles into Folau Fakatava and forced the ball away for his team-mates! It’s Beirne’s night!

Another crucial turnover from Tadhg Beirne! New Zealand are starting to really threaten, Keith Earls does a superb job of putting his foot down and bringing down Beauden Barrett as he tries to sprint to the outside. The All Blacks play on the right flank and get the ball into Will Jordan’s hands in space but Ireland handles him well, Beirne is part of the defending party that has Jordan on deck and then on his feet and over the ball in front of the New brings Zeeland clearers may arrive. Again Ireland is clear and survived.
