The father reportedly responded to the message: “Oh Jesus! Oh God! This is unreal! I have to try to calm down a bit.”
“I can not believe it. It’s amazing! It clears my head. It’s a bit of a shock to the system.’
He revealed to The Lott that he had “played the same numbers” every week for a decade before his win.
“I don’t even remember why I dialed those numbers. I’ve won other awards along the way, but nothing like it! ‘ added the father.
When asked what he would do with the money, the Tasmanian man said he would first “help” his children and then “maybe vacation in Australia”.
The man’s 12 game marked winner was purchased from the Sorell Lucky Agency, 31 Gordon Street, Sorell.
Debbie O’Shea, head of the Sorell Lucky Agency, said she was celebrating her outlet by selling a Division One winning ticket.
“I was amazed to see that we had sold a Division 1 profit contribution. To think we made someone a multi-millionaire overnight!’ she exclaimed.
“I’m sure our lucky winner will be over the moon with excitement.
“I’m not sure how many we’ve sold in total over the years, but we’ve sold two Division One winners in the last 18 months and we can’t wait to do it again.
“We would like to extend our best congratulations to our latest winner. It’s just wonderful!’
