Ricky Martin’s brother says their nephew – who has accused the singer of incest and abuse – has “mental health issues” as it emerged the 21-year-old was accused of stalking a colleague and threatening to kill her.
Eric Martin gained weight Facebook Live on Friday to defend his famous younger half-brother who has been accused of having a sexual relationship with his nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.
According to Eric, Sanchez is estranged from family, “has mental health issues,” and “has struggled with this issue our entire life.” He added that Sanchez had hurt other family members and that he was “tired of being silent.”
It mirrors what Martin’s legal team told DailyMail.com on Friday that Sanchez is “struggling with deep mental health issues” and has flatly denied the “disgusting” allegations.
Meanwhile, it appears Sanchez — who has a long criminal record in his native Puerto Rico — has allegedly made threats outside of the family as well.
Fox3Now reports that a co-worker issued a restraining order against him after he threatened to murder her and repeatedly showed up outside her workplace and said he planned to kill her.
The scandalous allegations against the ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ singer emerged after Sanchez, the son of Vanessa Martin, the pop singer’s half-sister, obtained a restraining order against his uncle Ricky on July 1.
The order related to a domestic violence incident in Puerto Rico, but the victim’s identity had been withheld.
Eric Martin has since identified the alleged victim as Sanchez, Spanish news agency brand reported.

Eric Martin, Ricky’s younger half-brother, posted videos to social media following explosive allegations of “physical and psychological assault” on Dennis Yadiel Sanchez during their seven-month relationship, which ended about two months ago

Sanchez has since claimed Ricky used “physical and psychological assaults” on him during their alleged seven-month relationship, which he says ended about two months ago.
The singer has adamantly denied the claims.
“Ricky Martin was, of course, never involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew — and never would be,” attorney Martin Singer said Friday.
“The idea is not only wrong, it’s disgusting. We all hope this man gets the help he so desperately needs. But most of all, we look forward to seeing this horrific case dismissed once a judge sees the facts.’
A representative for the married father-of-four, 50, previously called the abuse allegations “completely false and fabricated” in a statement provided to People earlier this month.
The star, spotted on the set of his new AppleTV+ miniseries in Los Angeles on Friday, is expected to appear before a Puerto Rican court on July 21.
Martin’s accuser, who is believed to be Sanchez, issued a restraining order against the singer on July 1 under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law.

The order barred Martin from contacting or phoning the petitioner, who allegedly “fears for his safety”.
According to the arrangement – which was reviewed by El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper – Martin and Sanchez split two months ago after dating for seven months.
Sanchez claimed Martin did not accept the split and was seen loitering near his home on at least three occasions, according to the arrangement verified by El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper.
He also claimed Martin “consumed large amounts of alcohol and drugs.”
The protection order was signed on July 1 after authorities visited Martin’s neighborhood in the north coast town of Dorado to try to minister to him, police spokesman Axel Valencia previously told The Associated Press.
Valencia noted that the person who requested the restraining order had failed to contact the police, which would have resulted in prosecutors determining whether there was sufficient evidence to charge. Rather, the application went directly to the court.
Puerto Rican law takes allegations of incest very seriously. If the alleged romance between Martin and Sanchez is confirmed, the singer faces up to 50 years in prison for incest allegations.
Martin addressed the allegations on Twitter on July 3, saying: “The protection order issued against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond at the trial with the facts and dignity that characterize me.
“Because this is an ongoing legal matter, I am unable to give any detailed statements at this time. I am grateful for the countless expressions of solidarity and accept them with all my heart.”
He has not made any further statements about the allegations.
Martin addressed the allegations on Twitter on July 3, calling them “completely false.”

Martin has been married to Syrian-born Swedish painter Jwan Yosef since 2017.
The couple have four children together: 13-year-old twins Valentino and Matteo, and Lucia (three) and Renn (also three).
In June 2021, Martin opened up about his family while quashing rumors they were expecting another child.
“Nowadays, I don’t hide anything anymore. We’re not pregnant,” Martin said persons back then. “At the moment we are dealing with a pair of twins and a pair of Irish twins because Lucia and Renn are only nine months apart. And they’re overwhelming, but we’re strong and healthy.’
Still, he said they wanted “more” children in the future and that they had “frozen embryos.”
